In the mid 1980's an Amish family founded the business that was to become Emma Jean's, Ltd. It began as Lapp's Woodcraft - originating as a stand at a local farmer's market.

During the mid 1990's, the business was moved to a strip mall. Shortly thereafter, Mrs. Lapp decided it was time to sell the business in order to spend more time with her growing family.

The business was sold to Alice Martin and renamed Emma Jean's, Ltd. The name, Emma Jean's, came about in honor and memory of the owner's mother "Emma" and of her sister, "Jean."

Emma Jean's, Ltd. moved to historic downtown Morgantown, along Route 23, just minutes from Exit 22 on the PA Turnpike, in 2001.

In 2004, space became available, for Amish-made furniture, at a farmer's market in New Jersey. Alice's desire to be a "mom and pop" store brought about the decision to sell the Morgantown location and move the business. You can find Emma Jean's Ltd. at their new location at Stoltzfus Farm Market in The Village Shoppes in Williamstown, NJ.

While the location may have changed - Emma Jean's quality merchandise and exceptional prices have remained the same!
